After a mere thirty six year wait, the Rats were back. After such a long time away, it was difficult to know what to expect but boy, was it worth the wait! The album explodes with a run of tracks that wouldn't have looked out of place on any of the classic albums from the 70s and 80s...the opening single Trash Glam Baby, Sweet Thing, the brilliant Monster Monkeys and hillarious She Said No. Then comes a few tracks that are unusual for the band, a heartfelt ballad - Passing Through and the bright and cheerful - but equally wonderful - Here's a Postcard. The album continues with the rap (yes, rap!!) and celtic tinged K.I.S.S., a tribute to rock n roll (Rock n Roll Ye Ye), Get a Grip and the club-inspired The Boomtown Rats. A brilliant come back. Let's hope they don't take as long over the next album.
